Title: Final CP question before drilling begins!
Post by: RoomTenONine on June 28, 2008, 09:23:56 am
I'm not sure on the placement of the trigger stick (to the right or left of the p2 stick).  I'm also questioning whether I need 2 buttons between the 4-way and spinner.  Here are two mock-ups with different placement of the trigger.  Thoughts?  Golden Tee will be played, but all the folks I play with don't slam the trackball.  We use our 1st two fingers as supports/pivots and push the ball with out thumbs for big drives.

let me know what you think.  Thanks in advance.

The first one seems to be a better placement for the right arm to grab the trigger stick.

just my opinion, the spinner, 4 way, and 2 buttons look awfully cramped. theres plenty of space on both sides. maybe not to the left of the 4 way due to the stick below. but i think you should space them out a little

Perhaps you should move the joy & buttons UP a bit.

That way you can actually rest your hands on the CP when playing.

But thats just my 2 cents, it does indeed look good & I really like how the spinner & 4 way are situated.

I like the 1st one better

Thanks for teh feedback everyone.

pinballwizard:

Do you mean the regular p1/2 controls?  If so, the overhang gives plenty of room for wresting hands.  Also my overhang will be curved, not the angled cut.

freon:

spacing will be the standard spacing you see most users doing with the 4-way, 2 buttons and spinner.  I just didn't map them that well in photoshop.  Expect something similar to what you see in teh Neon MAME cabinet in terms of spacing for those controls, possible even more.
