Guys,
My jukebox cabinet plans are coming along and now Im after advice on software.
I need software that has does the following
-is touchscreen compatible
-is able to go online to get album covers
-looks good
-tags as it rips mp3s
-is easily refreshed when new CDs are added to my hard drive
-if possible is able to be used with a remote control unit
-And most importantly is wife and teenage children proof so anyone can use it
Sorry if this has been asked before but it will save me downloading and trialling every piece of software out there.

Thought you had given up on touchscreens and were going to go for buttons due to the cost? Anyway i am not aware of something that fills all thouse needs although nipsng's in development software might or touchtraxx the replacment for TPCJB. Mine doesn't support CD Ripping or downloading CD Covers, i left this out because there are apps out there that do it far better than i could. At the end of the day you need to try software to see what you like, other peoples opions are not really valid as it is YOUR personal preference.

I havent totally given up on a touchscreen just yet and have decided to upsize to a full size instead of a wallbox.
Im thinking something like Uncle Ts but not quite as elaborate.
Which software is yours,Ill download and give it a go.

There is a software that is realased recentenly for downloading coverarts:

For adding music, its might been easier to do that over network, since most of these BOYAC software dosent rip CD's for you.
For ripping cd's, you can use software like CDex or such that and then refresh the library.
Barcrest's software is Freebox.
in MultiJuke, there is a "Kid Mode" options in Arcade GUI mode. Even I rename it to MultiFE, all Jukebox code is still in. I havent tested with a remote, but it should been very remote freindly too with the right software and remote contoller. Like StreamZap or such.
For a good button based software (but can been used with touchscreen) is the discounted Sk-Jukebox.
Otherwice, look in the wiki, for the software you want to use.

As space fractal said you can find mine here.. http://www.freeboxjukebox.com but if you think uncle T's is to elaborate you probably will not want to go with mine either. Multi-juke which spacefractal has written might be an option as he states. Like i said before you really need to try a few out, it's the only way to be sure you are using what is best for you.

Nah, Mine isnt' going to handle ripping/tagging/album art. I'm making a jukebox, with great eye candy, great features, great functionality... for a jukebox. that's my goal.
There is tagging/ripping/art grabbing software out there that is EXCELLENT (Tag & Rename, etc) and does what it does WELL. I personally think one of the biggest problems with software in general is that people take a piece of software and try to cram as much functionality as possible into it.
I think tagging/ripping is a whole separate process, MUCH better suited to a desktop PC with a mouse and keyboard than a touchscreen interface. There's just too many fields in an ID3 tag, too many options, too much to do to be sitting there tapping in single commands on a single-touch touchscreen interface.

I'm using AlbumPlayer for my TouchScreen Juke (have yet to try out others mentioned here, am doing soon), I upload the music then get it to scan for new tracks and it automatically goes off to scan for album art (from a variety of configurable sources). As mentioned I have only tried one jukebox software and yet to try any of the others (still trying to finish off my Arcade CAB) so am not promoting it over any others.

I agree tapping commands via the touch screen can be a pain (I'm running a 13") however if the juke is connected to the Internet or LAN why not just remote into it (TichtVNC is free) and do it from your desktop?

Ehh again. It's really a "free time" project. I'm only implementing a certain feature set into it that I feel is necessary. So basically it comes down to taste. If you want software with all those features, then mine won't be for you. (at least its initial release).
