Title: Is there a more complete extras pack?
Post by: TheShanMan on June 25, 2008, 09:39:08 am
I use the "PD" MAME Extras pack for snaps, marquees, control panels, and cabinets mainly (my mala layout shows those 4) but there are a handful of games in my favorites list that are missing control panels and cabinets most commonly, and sometimes the marquees. 1941, 88 games, Saint Dragon, etc.

I've been trying to find a more complete source of these images, so I'm wondering if anyone here can point me to one?

If you have access to newsgroups there was a pretty good "extras" uploaded there for mame version .125 recently.  alt.binaries.emu.mame  posted pretty close to 11 May 2008  Artwork: Special Edition

What about "HowardC's Unofficial Marquee Pack #14"?

It's been so long since I used the abem newsgroup that I didn't even think to try it. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try the HowardC suggestion as a 2nd option.

Thanks guys!

What newsgroup service do you use?

My ISP doesn't offer one, so I have to pay for it....and I don't want to pay a fortune.  :-\

I use Giganews. It's $25 a month with unlimited downloads. If you download a lot it's well worth the money.

Search for free nntp binaries. There are some free public servers out there. I discovered that verizon just pared down the newsgroups they provide immensely. No more "alt" for instance. :( So that started my quest for a free service.
