Ummm, you just set it up for the player one stick to be the movement stick and the player two stick to be the fire stick.

OK, it was so simple, that I didn't see the trick
thanks

What he said...
but, I have to wonder... is your player 2 left handed or something? why is the stick "outisde" the buttons or did you diagram "wrap" or ??? or is it just personal preference (which is ok -> I just wonder based upon the desire for dueley stick action will be compounded with the goofey-footed joystick)

Hi,
I would like to know how you set up you the IPac and mame controls to deal with the games that uses 2 joystick, as robotron crazy-climber, Karate Champ etc...
The IPac setup does not get affect by this.
It's still one IPac inpult for "up" another for "down", etc...
It's in MAME where you have set up the games:
1. You can set up a conroller ".ini" files:
http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/ (http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/) (Select "Controller INI Files" from the left menu).
It's somewhat complicated but the setup is stored in initialization files instead of cfg files. The latter should be deleted every time you upgrade to a new MAME version while the .ini files can remain.
2. While the game is running, enter the configuration screen and configure the P2 right joystick inputs to the buttons, stick of your choice. This setup gets stored in the .cfg files I told you about.
If only one player is going to play that type of game, or two players taking turns, then you should obviously set the P2 joystick as P1 right joystick.
For two simultaneous players, you would need to use the buttons as the right stick.
By the way, I echo the other poster's question:
Are you sure you want P2 to play left handed?

yes my best friend is left handed.
and for the momment, while plannig it's personal preference. and it respect some symetry, I think it looks clean this way.
But I just receive this morning, first parts from ultimarc, and wait for the industrias lorenzo (hoppe they will arrive soon) and I'll idg into some prototype for the layout.
I guess I'll change my minds after a lot of tests and prototypes. ;)

humm sorry my poor english did not allow me to understand this point :-\
could you clarify for a non native english person :D
anyway thank's for the comment

thank's for the tip, I'll try to see if it could adapted/hacked/used under xmame, my cab will run linux ;)

the layout is for the moment just a "mind view", I'll have to test.
thank's

The ctrlr ini files are the most consistent way to do it. Look at the provided ctrlr folder; all hotrod, xarcade, and slikstik have their ctrlr ini files set up to do what you want (except with their inputs). I think the slikstik ctrlr files are the closest to the IPAC defaults.

Sorry, I was going heavy on the slang. Dualey is a misspelled way of saying two (2) joysticks at the same time. Goofey-footed is slang for skateboarders who ride left-footed, so I was referring to your left handed mounted joystick (which is cool, just was wondering)
So, I was just pointing out that the sticks would be further away from eachother than "normal" layout, which means you'll have a wider reach when playing 2 joy games like robotron, etc.
It'll probably be fine, that's why we build practice/prototype control panels, and build and rebuild and build more cabinets =)
Your english is way better than my attempts at any other language!
Good luck with your project and keep us posted (and take lots of pics)

OK I see the point, I have to deep into slang ;)

good point ! I haven't think about this situation, gasp....

don't be in hurry, I'm a very slow guy, I need to chek and rechek before starting the real project.
But sure I'll do a lot of pics...
I'have the plan to set up a step by step page

Yes, but if you move the buttons outside of the sticks (Player 1 would have buttons on the left, Player 2 with buttons on the right), then your sticks would be nicely placed closer together in the middle of the monitor... Not a bad idea.

It waas on the previous layout studies, I'll add this to my layout test cycle
