I found this great new little gem of a place to look for those hard to find and rare items. It's better than craigslist or ebay if you're looking for something to fill that corner in your livin' room or bedroom. Check it out, here's a commercial:

I could stand about 30 seconds, then I had to skip through and see if ever got better.
What makes people do these things?
Here's one that's worse:

The thing about terrible commercials is they often "work".
This guy in Toronto is well known for his cheap "I'll give you Cash! OH YEAH!" commercials, but he has won awards for them (because they are actually quite successful):

Um, What? Free 10 piece bucket of fried chicken with a $1000 dollar purchase, or a 5 piece bucket of fried chicken with a $500 dollar purchase?
I don't think so. And if I were black, I'd be really offended. :dizzy:

Hilton Furniture in Houston, TX used to have some pretty crazy commercials. He is used to cut mattress's in half with a chain saw (probably still does, but I moved out of state)
Eww...we've got the lowest prices and town *cuts mattress* and thats a fact jack!
I tried to look for a video on youtube, but couldn't find one.

I remember when we were kids a few friends of mine tried to prank call Gallery Furniture and mock Mattress Mack over the phone by repeating his "SAVE YOU MONEY!" line. He actually answered and he was totally cool about it. He said something like "no, no, no kids, it's like this....SAVE YOU MONEY!!" We were just flabbergasted that he totally kicked our asses by playing along with the joke and laughing it off instead of getting mad or hanging up like most people would. :laugh2: He is definitely a good guy.

I think Cal Worthington and his dog spot were the originators of the so crazy they became famous commercials. In his commercials he did things like wrestle a bear, ride a hippopotamus, and put a monkey on roller skates, and of course whatever animal was in the commercial was always referred to as his dog spot.
I just found a pretty good compilation of a few of his commercials:

Wow, I remember the commercials in the 80s, but I didn't know they went back to the 70s. Much crazier than I remember. They always seemed to buy a lot of time on Sunday mornings on channel 5 :D
