Title: Master Volume and the ` key in Mame - Help for a small reward...
Post by: dommer on June 21, 2008, 02:40:35 pm
Alright, so I just got Mala and Mame up and running on my cabinet, and I've got 1p button one mapped to the ` key (it's to the left of the 1 key).  Well, when I try to play a game, when I press the ` key, a little message pops up on the bottom of the screen saying "master volume", and it shows a full bar.  I cannot seem to find this option in the input menu.  What is it?  I just want to disable it completely, so when I click 1p button 1, it does only 1p button 1.

Anybody who can tell me what I need to do, pm me your paypal, and I'm shooting you 5 bucks.  Help me within an hour for 10.  Within 15 minutes for $15 bucks.  Thanks.

Couldn't you just use the default p1 button1 which is 'left control' instead of '~'?

If not, start a game, press 'tab', go to 'input general', go to 'user interface' and change 'on screen display' and 'debugger' to some other unused key.

I can't really change the keymapping of the buttons easily, it's all tied into my hagstrom kt72 and I haven't messed with it in... geez, 2 years?  Anyway, your suggestion worked.  PM me your email for the reward....

No worries about a reward.

The Hagstrom KE72 keyboard encoder should have an associated input config file used to update the encoder with the key mappings you want.   You hook up a serial cable to KE72 encoder and issue the KE72LOAD <filename> command to let it update the encoder.   The configuration file is just a plain text file and is very easy to determime which keyboard buttons are mapped to which KE72 input port.

Just thought I would mention it ......
