Title: Thinking of buying this monitor, is it worth it?
Post by: Doom bucket on June 19, 2008, 02:58:48 pm
"Kortek 2938DF Arcade Monitor.
Says Samsung on it as well.
Currently no power cord. We did have one hooked up to it and when we turned it on it powered up but immediately went off. It could be a little or big fix I'm really not sure.

There's plastic on the screen which leads me to believe it was new ( I have some used and some new) It looks like it's in great shape. See photos!"

from craiglist and he only wants a few dollars for it

How hard is it to repair monitors if one has no experience? Is it worth my time to take a chance on this?

Ha. I know where this is at. That's only on CL if you're local to them. Are we fibbing a little? Anyways, I'm thinking there's something else going on here.

Didn't want to say ebay because I figured that someone might look for it and outbid me

It's happened to me before

Looks brand new to me.  Maybe he just plugged in the power without a signal and got the 'no signal' msg and then it went blank?

Sorry. I shouldn'tve said anything. I just felt a little clever. I actually talked with the person auctioning these, and she doesn't really undestand how they function. I got some information out of her, and gave her some, but without giving her a couple apps and instruction in their use, she's not going to know any more about them. She may not be that interested, either. Then again, she might get better prices if there was more definitive info on them.

That's what I'm thinking.

So did you get this, Db?  Went really cheap. I was surprised.
