Here's a small cab I made for my best friends, the Amirkhanians. So I called it the Amirkade. I made this from scratch using all new parts including monitor, 48 in 1 board, joystick and buttons, jamma harness, built in deqaussing coil, and artwork by Billybob. It came out great! I made a little drawer in the back to hold the permantly wired in degausing coil, as the unit is made to move around. (although it's heavy!) I tried to copy the top half of my Double Dragon cab, and to make it as small as possible while still having the same size as the upright cab. The width of the game is 18 inches and the height is 30 inches, just enough for the monitor. I put 2 speakers below the control panel and it sounds perfect. I didn't include a marquee to save on space and weight. It's about as compact as it can be. I think it came out great! And of course they love it. It's got my 2 friends, his daughter, their 2 dogs, and their 4 new doberman puppies on it. Each side has different pics of them. Thanks again to Billybob (aka Jake) for hooking me up with the artwork. I also put new serial number stickers and the other Atari stickers on the back. I put in a speaker grill on the lower back for ventalation. I also put in 2 handles in the top sides that also have vents in them. The top is made to come off if you ever need to replace the monitor. The control panel comes off as well as the back door. I put in a regular black light switch on the top back to turn it on and off. Overall it came out exactly as I had planned.

Nice cabinet design.

The artwork is pictures of my friends family. With some arcade characters thrown in for good measure. I think it came out great. I didn't want it looking like a mame machine or anything like that, I wanted it to be personal.
-
meh, don't listen to GinsuVictim as long as you are happy with it that's all that matters...
I think it's pretty cool that it's personalized... makes it that much more special to your friends...
effff GinsuVictim he stabbed a good deed.....

I agree. Don't listen to me. I'm just a dick at times. (Especially when I'm typing messages from work and having a bad day already...)

I'm pretty sure if it was on craiglist that artwork would be removed, you wouldn't sell pictures of your family. Also a guy posting a project announcment is NOT the same as a random craiglist ad. I think it's a nice touch as it was made for a gift and i'm sure the recipients appriciate it. I see why you don't like it but it wasn't made for you. To crap on the dudes project thred by saying it's crap is in a bit of bad taste dude, come on lighten up instead of trying to defend your actions when deep down you know you were harsh...

Sorry about all that....I was way out of line.
How about I just admit I'm an ---uvula--- who doesn't always know when to keep his mouth shut? (My wife can attest to this) :dunno
I'll remove my posts. Could you guys be so kind as to remove the quotes?

Quote removed.... :applaud:

Thanks. I'll try not to be a dick in the future.

Nothing like a completely edited discussion. I like the cabinet, its a piece of your home and it will no doubt be enjoyed by your huge family ;D.
-
I made this for my friends, it's not my cab.

Lookin' good! I was about to ask how on earth you fit a computer in there (with the small size) but then I re-read it and saw the 48 in 1 was used.
