Well I've been reading here for a few years but never really said anything so here goes.
First I would like to thank everyone in advance for the info that has been posted and the help I've recieved without asking over the years, just by comming and reading.
I'm in the market for a new monitor, not so much out of need but rather because I've a nice cab that I am doing a restore on and want to put something new and wonderful in there. I've been working on cabs for several years as a hobby but only ever bought one new monitor and got ripped off on that so I've stuck to having old ones fixed.
I've had my eye on one of these tri mode ones from Nieman Video Displays. It looks like those get a lot of respect around here.
I've been trying to read up on it but still either I am missing something or just can't find what I am looking for. I'm not saying the info is not here just that I'm not been able to find it.
So my questions are for anyone with experience with these monitors. I wish to put one into a big red Neo-Geo cab that has a 25 inch in it now.
So I won't need to change out my isolation transformer for this monitor?
Do they have any that some without the d-sub connector or is there some kind of converter? Should I just make my own then and chop the cable?
How are these usually shipped and what kind of wieght am I looking at, I should think similar to the monitor I have. So being cost effective as I live in KY is this my best source or is there a distributor for these that is closer or should I seek something else.
Has anyone had to use their warranty on a unit here. (Mind you I am not trying to be rude by asking this but every company has a warranty that looks good. The last new monitor I bought I picked up from the plant and talked to the owner there and got working correctly. They had a warranty too, on paper at least but I paid in cash and got no service from them.)

sounds like you get good backup with nieman products,i am not sure what chassis he uses but at a guess i would say the rodotron.
the good thing about the modern tri syncs is they are auto syncing and free voltage,which means you can run them on any ac voltage from 85v to 265v without the need for an isolation transformer(you can still use one if you wish) and the you do not have to make any major adjustments when you change the video input frequency.
nieman have distibutors all over the U.S
