Title: finnaly getting around to wiring up my control panel
Post by: clickhea on June 08, 2008, 02:15:37 pm
wow it seems like forever since i ordered the parts and was actually able to start using them.

I purchased the minipac with harness, but it seems like the wires on the harness are all way too short to reach where i need, have any of you expierenced this problem?

if i wanted to ditch the harness what kind of connect do i need to wire up my buttons to the mini pac?

Just buy a big roll of wire and splice in the length you need to each connection. Cut, strip, twist and wrap with insulation tape.

A better way of doing it would be to cut the wire, and join with butt connectors - much better and more durable than electrical tape:

Or solder the wires together, and cover in electrical tape.  (The wet, paint-on type of tape is even better).

Splice an IDE cable, or use the wiring harness from Ultimarc.
