Title: adding mame roms

hi i have old mame disks (approx last nov), i notice new roms are out, for me to update these do i need to download all roms again or just the newones, how do i tell what older roms have changed, is there a list that says what mame versions have what rom changes ect.

If you're downloading from a torrent, you just point the torrent at your rom folder and it will get only the ones you need. If a rom needs updated, it will overwrite it.

A .dat file is released that you can use with Clrmamepro to update your set.  Pointing the torrent to your existing roms folder works too but over time, you can be left with a bunch of files that aren't needed.

Using Clrmamepro is the cleanest way to do it but requires a little more work.  I go the point/overwrite way and don't worry about a few extra files.  It's easier that way.

There is a really good clrmamepro tutorial with pictures etc that you can search for.  It's on a site that can't be linked to here.
