I have an modded xbox in my NeoGeo cab and I'd like when I turn on the xbox for a game to load up on it's own (say Xmen COTA or a NeoGeo title). Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

Does the Emulator allow for single game loads?
You could modify how the Xbox loads the app at startup, but if it was me (and it usually is) I would have it booting to a custom Avalaunch than to one certain app. But yeah if the Emu lets you run a game via a switch, sure why not?
But I dont. ;D

Have a look at http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/376141 (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/376141) how to install xbmc as a dashboard. Exchange the dashboard xbm with your game and it should work.

Not as far as I know. If there was one that did that would be perfect.

Can Avalaunch be set to load an app when it starts?

That is my current setup. I have a shortcut .XBE to XBMC. There are .CUT files that can be used to start an emu and pass a command-line argument to load a specific game when it starts. However, you still have to click on it to get it to load. The icon is also one level down meaning you have to click on a "folder" and then on the game icon.

If you use FBA-XXX, then you can use a command line switch to boot directly to a game.
None of the MAMEs offer that ability, but many of the console emulators do (All of the ones ported by Xport + some others).
I'd start digging around the xbox-scene (http://www.xbox-scene.com) forums, as there is a ton wealth to be found there.
For my Xbox arcade cab, I am running Unleash-X as my dash. It is extremely customizable, and has plenty of options that made for making a nice arcade cab gui. Plus it does allow for command line tags, so I am able to boot directly to any Neo-Geo, CPS(2), etc... game.

I spent months trying to figure this out, as I hated the menus on the emulators. I wanted to set up my own dash that was just a list of ROMs.
No soap and I got chewed out and insulted on Xbox-Scene for even deigning to ask if it was possible.
If you figure it out, please let us know. If it's possible now it's because they made some changes to the programs.. :-\
Chewed out?
I guess times have changed since I was last there.
I had nothing but friendly help when I was setting things up.
It has been so long since I set mine up, and it is currently in storage, otherwise I would give you guys some step by step to setting it up myself.
Using the search at xbox-scene should yield some results if you use the right search terms.
I suggest "command line launching" and "unleash-x".
They should at least give you something to start with.

The link in my above post details how to launch specific titles with FBAXXX Pro and Xport emulators from XBMC.
I found this link:
Unleash-X command-line arguments
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=618711&st=0#entry4091007&highlight=unleash+command+line
XBMC supports command line arguments as it appears UnleashX does. I was unable to find examples of Avalaunch or EvoX supporting it.

I've not gone this far in my xbox cabinet, but I have messed around with all the popular front ends. I've always gone back to unleash-x as it's got a faster boot time and the most options I look for in a cab. XBMC is very nice and customizable, but I've always found it less friendly to a cab setup. But then I've not done a ton to mine in about a year, so take that for what it's worth.
Let us know how it goes, and feel free to post some more specific questions here as well, there are enough of us that look around that can probably help.

If you are using a mod chip you can customize the bios to launch any .xbe of your choice at start up with out ever using a dash board. but after the emulator boots up will still have to select and launch the game you want to play. You can see the options for booting up specific .xbe 's on this photo of XBtool look for the "boot partitions and executables" options
