Just wondering what my interface options for a star wars yoke might be, other than the a-pac and the dual strike hack ?
There's so many boards and options these days, would like to know all the options to plan my cp.
Also, if anyone has a recommended paint (not going to do the powder coating at this time), that would be great.
Cheers

Check out Ultimarc's U-Hid - looks like that will also do the trick, and then some:

I used an AKI to connect mine, but the Ultimarc offerings have made that somewhat obsolete.
I'm not sure if Dave is even still selling the AKI and SJC, now that Ultimarc and Groovy Game Gear have gotten into those markets.

Yeah - I think he's gone now - used to be here, I think:

Now, you get a password prompt and an "under construction" message...

That new controller looks awesome!

I may be down, but I'm not out just yet... Actually, coincidentally enough, I just relaunched at dave.bit2000.com (about 10 minutes ago...), but I don't have anything up for sale yet. There's a new AKI 3.0 on the horizon with some interesting new features, so with any luck, I'll soon be back in the game, as it were...

Sweet! Glad to see you're still alive and kicking! If you could put out a controller that is inexpensive and can handle a SW yoke, plus perhaps 8 - 12 buttons, that would be great!

I will give Dave the exact same rating as Groovy Game Gear and Ultimarc, for those who'd like a recommendation before doing business with someone.
He is a great guy to deal with, and has always been very good about answering questions, filling orders, etc... when I've dealt with him.

Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd mention that the AKI 3.0 USB Interface is now (finally) available, and my URL has changed.
If anyone is interested, please check out http://bspeclabs.com (http://bspeclabs.com).
Best Regards,
Dave

Seconded! I've been using the (old version) AKI for my pedals for the last 4 or 5 years. Finally got round to using my other AKI for my SW yoke a few months ago...both working extremely well :)

With any of these analog interfaces...AKI, gpwiz49?, U_HID, etc...does the Star Wars control yoke need modification like it does with the dualstrike hack (i.e. resistor pot replacement)?
-
AKI and U-HID can handle arcade (5k) pots just fine. Ultimarc's other analog interfaces can as well. The gpwiz49 is not an analog board, it is for 49-way joysticks, so that wouldn't work.
-
I think the Dual Strike has pots in it, hence the inputs one solders to are essentially the same as any other analog unit.
-
You actually remove the dual strike's pots - the ones in the yoke will interface directly. That's why the dual strike is so desirable. It's as plug and play as you can get with a hack.

I just thought I would point out that if your PC has a old-school joystick port, you can just install 100K Ohm Pots, and wire it to a joystick cable. No added electronics required.

Yeah, I have an old PIII that has one.
