Title: Can you do screen overlays in mame? (boot hill, armor attack, etc.)
Post by: boogieman on May 27, 2008, 03:42:09 am
Can you do screen overlays in mame?  I am talking about the older games like dragster, boot hill, atari football, armor attack?  It seems really weird trying to play the games without the overlays.  The only one of these I saw in person was dragster.  While it is playable it seems odd with no color.

I know BootHill and Armor Attack has. Maybe you need to get it and enable artwork.

Err... is there a guide to doing that somewhere?  I googled for a LOOOOONNNNGGG time and didn't really come up with any info on how to enable artwork.  Not sure if it's relevent but I am running mame on atomicfe.

Mame's Artwork page (http://www.mameworld.net/mrdo/mame_artwork.html)

Pretty easy, download what games you want (from in-game artwork) and put them in the artwork folder (if you're using the default settings).  A lot more options, though; read the stuff there as it's pretty detailed.
