Title: WTB: netwok usb adapter or card for wireless internet
Post by: taternutz on May 26, 2008, 08:40:20 pm
I was hoping someone might have a wireless adapter laying around, either b or g capable for a decent price

I would also use a card to go inside the pc as I just put a pc in my sons room and do not feel like hardwiring the house.

Thanks in advance

You might want to watch Ben's Bargains (http://bensbargains.net/). You see 802.1g PCI cards there for $5-$10 (shipped) every now and then. Usually Belkin, Rosewill, Zonet, Trendnet, LevelOne, and other similar brands. There was a $10 Rosewill a couple of weeks ago. Here's a Zonet you can get for $10.69 (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=205844386) with a rebate, and $0.69 if you are first time user of Google Checkout.

The rebates are a pita, and Linux compatibility and driver quality are always a concern, but the price is often right enough if you are running vanilla windows boxes and trying to be cheap.
