hey guys, i need some help. i picked up a dynamo cabinet the other day, and it has the fluorescent light fixture for the marquee intact. there is a power supply in the cabinet, but the wires from the light fixture have been cut and i have no idea where they would connect. is there any way i can use this light fixture? i have gutted the cabinet, but i can reconnect the original power supply if i need to. it is just going to be a standard mame cabinet. do i need to connect it to the 5 or 12v from my pc power supply? or is this a 110v job that i could just splice into an extension cord or something? is this even worth doing? i know i can pick up a 24" fluorescent fixture at walmart for under $10, but if i don't have to spend the money, i'd rather not since there are many other things i need for the cabinet.
thanks in advance.

What gauge wire is it? If its somewhat thick stranded then its most likely running off 120VAC. If its not so thick it might run of 5v or 12V. Best thing to do is simply test it out. But always start with the smallest voltage like the 5V DC. If it doesn't work then use 12V DC. If it still doesn't work then try 12VAC then step up to a higher voltage until it works. But try DC first.

good point... i'd have to look at it again (too late tonight) but from memory, i'd have to guess 12guage wire. it looked pretty heavy to be low voltage. i guess if i hook it up and it blows up or something, then i'll just have to spend the $10 to buy a new one.
