Im going to start making my mame machine. My friend bought a marvel vs capcom machine from a arcade that went out of business. Then 3 day later it broke. Anyways Im going to buy it from him for 100$ is there a way I can turn it into a mame machine with out gutting it and starting from stratch.
I am buying it to have it for the case but I would like to keep the buttons and joystick wired is there anyway to do that or do i have to rewire it and connect it to an ipack for it to work on the computer.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not completely sure if it is Jamma or not because im not Cab Savoy, but if it is im pretty sure all you would have to do is buy a J-pac from ultimarc and u can use the current buttons and monitor. Also is it in a candy cab or in the Street fighter 2 cab. Do u know?

its actually just a MVC game if that makes any difference. I dont know what kind it is but it looks like this picture. If all i have to do is buy that bord your talking about then that would be amazing.

Im pretty sure its jamma. i would wait till someone else responds. but im almost possitive that u can use the j-pac to hook up controls to pc, but dont know anything about the monitor part

CPS2 is JAMMA+ (JAMMA with a kick harness)
you can use a Jpac, or arcade VGA and an IPac or what ever you want.
what stopped working on the cab? the monitor, the power suuply, the boards, etc?

he said the monoter stoped working. You can hear the sound and everything but the monitor is black. When he bought it at the arcade it worked and when he brought it home it dident. So i'm guessing that some wires came lose during the move or something.
Also i was looking up the jpac and it only has porst for player 1+2 joysticks and 4 buttons each. But the M.V.C. game has 6 buttons each. How would I go about getting the other 2 buttons wired aswell? Do i have to buy an i pack aswell?
Also how much do the MVC boards sell for there isent any on ebay right now?

You would use an ipac instead of Jpac. Then to use the arcade monitor you would buy an arcadeVGA
