Title: Cropped DK and Pan Up Mame
Post by: teetu on May 23, 2008, 11:27:04 pm
My apologies if this has been previously answered, but I googled the entire world and came up with nothing.

I'm using an arcade vga card with an arcade monitor (mounted horiz) and used the mame res tool.  Donkey kong is displaying pretty well in horizontal mode, but ~10 lines at the botton are cropped.  I'm fine with it cropping so it fits, but I'd like to be able to pan up so I can see the bottom rather than the top.  I saw this "pan up" command in mame, but it doesn't seem to work.  I tried different resolutions, but only the one that mame res tool generated works (something like 384X240)

Also, I haven't been keeping up with mame and software for the last year or so (been busy playing the cab!).

Thanks!

When in the game, press the '¬' key (next to key '1') which brings up the volume option, press up a few times until you get to the vertical posistion option and then you can move the screen up or down, you can also do this for the horizontal too. I wouldnt mess about with the stretch option as it gives you some gfx glitches etc. Hope that helps

thanks for the response.  I'm using an older version of mame (.104), and the screen options are not in the "`" menu.  I guess I gotta upgrade, but it seems like the way video is configured in newer versions has changed.
