Title: 6 players ?
Post by: vertygo on May 23, 2008, 03:57:42 am
Just saw a 6 player x-men game on ebay.. just wondering if Mame supports 6 players ? Just an interesting dream project for some day.

Anyone have a 6 person CP ? HEH.

Considering it is the only 6 player game other then weird betting games or racing games, I see no reason why a 4 player panel and 2 gamepads wont work. If someone does it would most likely just be a reproduction of the original. just my 2c

Agreed. I don't think anyone has as this is the only viable 'action' game that supports it. It would be cool to play on an original in a 6-player game, but to build one of your own I'd think you were crazy.

What about Hard Dunk (http://www.mameworld.net/maws/romset/harddunk)?

Mame supports up to 8 players ATM.
Both xmen6p & harddunk used 2 monitors side by side, so these are a couple of the few game that a wide screen monitor would help.  (Although both xmen(6p) & harddunk drivers are still imperfect; AFAIK xmen6p is due to the dual screens and the 2/4 player versions drivers are in good condition.)  But much like player 5 & 6, the wide screen monitor don't help most games as they look better on a 4:3 screen.

Still would be cool.
