Hey guys,
Dont know where to start with this. I have a Golden Tee Cabinet that had no Control Panel with it. Now I want to create one. Nothing complex just 1p start, 2p start, 2 joysticks and 6 buttons per side. Has anyone ever created one of these before. I must admit I am not great at woodwork so as simple as possible please!
Your help will be greatly appreciated!!

Nope.
No one has ever created a 2 player control panel before.

Your questions are extremely vague, I think that is why you're not getting replies. Golden Tee could be a dedicated or in a multitude of converted cabs. Joystick mounting has been done on every project on the forum, and there are many different approaches depending on your needs.
Here is how I did my Sanwa balltop mount for a Defender/Stargate panel. Since I knew there was going to be an overlay over the panel and no access to the top afterward, I used T-Nuts. You drill, drop these in from the top, and they hook into the wood. In this case I needed a very low mounted stick to mimic Defender, so I also shimmed the stick down at the base.
Some people just put carriage bolts clear through the panel and don't care if they show. Many dedicated machines were done like this, including the dedicated Golden Tee Fore! games. I think with some pictures and a more concise description of what you're trying to accomplish you'll get a lot more help.

Wrighty,
There are several great example you can view / get design information thru the Project Announcement page. I suggest you grab a 6 pk of your favorite drink "Preferably Heineken" and look at some project examples. Heck, you could also check out the control panel thread in the Main page.

i have a gt cab im converting , the cp sits on top of the sides and doesnt go all way back to meet monitor, this is coverd with a metal bar that meets the bezel from the monitor.
there is also 4 screw holes on the orig cp that lines up with the 4 bolt mounts..
ive kept the trackball and created 2 joys and 6 button holes, with 1 & 2 player buttons.
i had to cut the trackball mount to add 2 buttons and a joystick that i top mounted, the hardest part is routing the plexi so its round to fit over the trackball
