Well, I mounted the 27" monitor with out thinking about the curve of the screen and ended up with it being about 3/4 of an inch too high.
So once I realized that I need to lower the monitor I realized that because the screen is so big that I get a WAY better view with the monitor being really low so that i could see over it all. HMMMM? :dizzy:
I know what your thinking (Don't forget to bevel the top inward to increase visible angle) I got that in mind BUT...
How low is too low? :dunno
Will it being too low wrench my neck after hours of play? :dunno
The top with glass is 29 3/4"
My best guess is to drop the monitor until I cant see the edges (even with a 45 degree beveled bezel)
Any one see a problem with that? ???

OK I see I'm not going to get a responce because most people build standups but there has to be someone out there who has tried a 27" monitor in a cocktail cab and can give me some advice.
I'll even take feedback from anyone who want to chime in with some suggestions. :applaud:
Can someone with a cocktail cab tell me what is their monitor hight. :-\
Sound of cricket: chirp, chirp, chirp! :dunno

whammoed built a 27" cocktail machine - maybe send him a PM? http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Whammocade

Simply too much for such a cabinet style. Even though the Whammocade looks aesthetically sound, I bet viewing gets tiresome and a little straining, particularly towards the top of the screen in vertical mode...

I thought my ears were burning. 8)
I made mine so the happ monitor bezel fits flush with the top, and mounted the monitor to touch the bezel.
The glass is about a quarter of an inch from the monitor if I remember correctly.
I have built a 19" cocktail as well and haven't experienced any additonal strain nor has anyone else who plays. I may tend to sit a little higher when playing this one though.
