Title: First arcade cabinet and a hello~
Post by: kagaden on May 18, 2008, 04:29:54 pm
Hi Everyone,

I'm a long time lurker here and I recently purchased my first arcade cabinet off of ebay for a steal (imo at least), check it out!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260229928573&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=016 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260229928573&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=016)

It's not exactly retro or anything but she's a beauty :) I was surprised the seller didn't retract their offer or take a baseball bat to it or somethin. Shipping was 100 miles and went smoothly (uhaul trailer, tarp, and tiedowns). I currently have her set up at work on freeplay so people can play. I'm also searching for a SF2:Hyper Fighting PCB I can swap in every once in awhile. Once that gets old I'll probably bring her home and turn her into a custom mame cabinet.

I've wanted one of these showcase cabinets for easily 10 years now.

I'll get some additional pictures soon.

Cheers!

I spoke to him about it. It whiffed on ebay @ $545 or so if I recall about the same time this auction was up. It's an older Dynamo showcase cabinet with a 33" screen and from his description is starting to show it's age a bit and could use some TLC.

Edit: HAHA~ Found it!

After the guys at work caught wind that I purchased a 3rd Strike machine, I hooked them up with the seller, who let the MvC2 machine go at $500. From what I've seen, the boards for MvC2 alone can go upwards of $550 themselves... but I don't have room for two cabinets or I'd have picked that one up in a second also :hissy:

It's almost like we're building a community Arcade at work now  >:D
