Title: Bill Acceptor (DBV-30) - Bad?
Post by: ZeroQuest on May 15, 2008, 02:03:47 pm
I have a bunch of these. When I plug them into my cabinet, the mechanism spins up, but it won't pull in any bills. Is there anything special I'm supposed to do to make these work, maybe set the DIP switches? Thanks guys.

these are in 8 liners. I have another brand and those seem to work fine. Could it have anything to do with the ticket dispensors being empty?

Can anyone help me out with this? I've tested 10 of these now and can't get any to work...  :banghead:

The manufacturer (JCM American) has some info on their website:

If more help is needed, then I'm afraid you'll need to contact their tech support department.

I found one of my 8-liners had a working DBV-30 in it. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the rest of the units had cut pins 1 and 5. For some reason the majority of DBV's (Other manufacturers) seem to work fine w/out these pins connected. As such, I tried the DBV-30's in the machine with a working unit and they all work perfectly.

Pin 1 and 5 are +5v and Ground. The DBV-30's power up and appear to be working 100% w/out these lines connected, but they WILL NOT pull in bills. Connecting them fixed the problem.

Thanks anyway guys, hopefully this helps someone else in the future.

FWIW: My Golden Tee also had these two pins cut. (It was missing the DBV when I purchased it)
