Thanks,

I think it's just a push on the trackball.

Yeah you have two hook buttons (like bowling) and a trackball. It's pretty much unplayable with digital controls.
-
Thanks guys. I was trying to roll forward with a mouse but couldnt' get anything to register. I tried it this weekend on my cab with the trackball and sure enough, the forward roll throws it (into the house across the street!!) I guess it was a difference in sensitivity or something.

How's the infamous re-built trackball of doom working for you, wade?
hope it goes well. Getting sensitvity right in games is still a bit of a lost art to me, but sometimes I'm not sure if I should blame my ps/2 hack on that or if it's ??? but i digress.

All I know is that we tried playing American Horseshoes after several late nights of Shuuz and quickly decided that American Horseshoes was a load of crap... Shuuz rules (Atari's horseshoe game).

American Horseshoes has a really narrow area of input. I never really got it set right, but after a bunch of practice I was able to kind of play it.

rampy and others,
I adjusted the sensitivity down to where a hard whirl will make it hit the max power and a soft whirl will make it hit low power. It's pretty playable now. I'm not sure what setting I used but for most games it seems like 10-20% is about right. I got backspin if I set the sensitivity too high on just about any game. I set it higher on games like Centipede and Missile Command where you only move around a fixed screen and don't do any whirls. I have only set the sensitivity in each game once or twice and it seems to work pretty well. Haven't changed any of them for days. :)
Yeah rampy the trackball from hell ordeal is finally over. :) My latest hack actually worked. Now I need to make sure those extra optic boards still work (after my desoldering and resoldering the optics).
