My ActLabs gun is not cooperating with my betson (doesnt handle the flash too well) and I cant get it to read the gun shot at all, thinking it may be the tinted glass. Will the top gun lcd work behind tinted glass?
Thanks
Jon

The TopGun wouldn't care if your screen was behind a brick wall.
Its the sensors that the gun cares about, which are two sticks with Infrared LED's to help the gun understand its position, similar to Wii remotes. If you mount these sticks on the outside of the glass, or the side of the cabinet (depending on how wide it is), you'll have no problem at all.
If you're asking whether to mount the LED sticks behind tinted glass thats another story, although I believe Play-Asia.com sell a more powerfull version of LEDs that could do the job?

Yea, I was thinking of putting the LED sticks behind the glass, actually thinking of cutting small holes in the plastic bezel and putting them behind there with just the leds sticking through but behind the tinted glass
Thanks

I dont believe smoked glass will dim the IR much at all. It may cause some reflections. I just put my glass in today, I will test my two lcd topguns tonight and let you know.

I will get this tested this weekend. I have been lacking the second person I need to get my glass out safely.

I have had my Topgun emitters behind tinted plexi for a long time.
Works great and looks even better!

I didn't even think of this as a potential problem.
I just assumed if it was light it would be able to go through the glass no problem.
Has anyone done this and found it to be an issue?
Marak, do you have multiple guns or just one?
Procrastination may have saved me again.

far as I know, IR should not have any problem working behind tinted glass. Look at your remote and the IR sensor on your TV/VCR/DVD. Most have the IR sensor and LED behind heavily tinted plastic and those work fine. Even the Wii mote.

I just have one. (For now)
