I assumed the knob had an allen screw, but it seems not to be - it has a round hole and if I slide an allen wrench into it, it slides all the way in to the center of the knob. Anyone have a clue how to get it off?

Do not take the knob off!!!! You will never get it back on without a lot of work. It is a roll pin holding it in place. To get the knob off there is a set screw under the control panel near the top of the shaft that the one the knob is attached to. Look above the slotted wheel. You will see 2 set screws on a shaft attached to the slotted wheel. Then look further up and you will see 2 more set screws on a smaller shaft. Lossen the top 2 and the knob will pull out with the shaft still attached. If you must get the knob off the shaft you will need a small punch to knock the roll pin out.

Thanks! Glad I asked. That was easy. Boy, they did their job making sure no one could steal parts off of the game - security screws on the joystick handle and not exposing the set screws on the spinner!
