Title: T-Molding don't fit...
Post by: Retro_SA on May 08, 2008, 01:47:21 am
Ok, so I couldn't find a small enough bit to cut the grooves for my t-molding.  I ended up buying a slightly bigger bit than what I needed.  So now the grooves are a bit too big for the t-molding.  Is there a easy way to fit the t-molding?  Glue will be too messy and I don't have anything to keep the molding in place while the glue dries.  Tried silicon as well, but again can't keep it in place to dry.  Any ideas?

Put in silicon, let it dry, then put in the T-molding?

You can't use silicon and use tape to keep it in place?

What about using hot glue?

I already tried silicon, left it for an hour before putting in the molding, but it's still not a good fit.  It stays in place, but you can see the molding lifting out a bit from the sides.

Should have used hot glue.  It cools quickly, so it stays in place.  Silicone takes too long to cure.

refill the grooves with bondo, go get the correct slot cutter bit, and start over.
