Strangely enough, I haven't been able to find this information anywhere online yet.
About two years ago I ordered a set of standard arcade buttons and two 4-way joysticks from eBay. When they arrived they lacked any paperwork, so I don't really know any measurements on them. As best I can tell, they're basically sold as direct replacements for already existing control panels.
Tomorrow I'll most likely be building my control panel, so tonight I'm hoping to draw out the plans.
What size holes do I need to drill for the arcade buttons and joysticks? The wood I have is roughly 3/4" thick. I'm not sure if these controls come in varying sizes, but from what I've seen they seem fairly standard.

For the buttons you need a 1and1/8th" bit and for the joystick hole i use a 1" bit and have never run into problems with the size of that hole! I perfer paddle bits over circle thing. just be sure to drill good side up and not from the bottom (tends to chip at the end of the hole).
