...and I'm looking for suggestions for a 4 1/2 year old -- what games might he be able to tool around in on the arcade machine without getting too frustrated? lol....He's actually quite good at Marble Madness -- welcoming any suggestions!!! Thanks a million folks!

Most classic-era games are fine.  Ms Pac/Pac, Galaga, Space Invaders, Crush Roller...just take a look.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  He might be a bit young, but that game was all I needed when I was a kid.

Otherwise I'd give Pang! a shot, though it's really difficult.

Thanks guys -- it's a little age-inappropriate, but I set him off on the Metal Slug series and after showing him how to shoot, jump, and toss a grenade he took to it like white on rice....off-topic, but we took him to a Dave-and-Buster's type place earlier in the eve and all the kids were playing this nerf-ball war-type shooting thing (think the old ball-pit we used to jump in when we were knee-high to a midget but advanced) where they could lock-and-load nerf balls and fire them at one another with compressed air cannons (!) --- we had 4 and 6 year olds diving to the ground trying to enunciate "FIRE IN THE HOLE" (read: "FYAH IN DERRR HOOOOOO...") I was disturbed and amused at the same time....so, no shock, at 4 and 1/2 he's all about Metal Slug....lol.....go figure!

Thanks!
James
