Hi all
I've finally got my arcade cab up and running with an AVGA card installed and MAME all present and correct. The monitor picture is excellent (thanks to Harry and Pentranic for that) but I have a bend in the bottom right area of the monitor, only noticable when there are straight lines on screen, but there non the less.
I've heard you can attach a magnet onto the back of the screen to sort of pull it down into line with the rest (purity magnet?) - Is this the case? And if so would something like a fridge magnet do the trick or is it a special magnet?
Oh - the monitor is a 29 inch one, hence it being rather noticable!
Any advice is much appreciated

Degauss it, or attach magnets to a spade bit and run a drill close to the monitor and pull away from the screen. (I think)
-
There's no issue with degaussing, no blotches or anything - the image is clear of imperfections it's just the bendy bit. It's nothing near the screen either, it did the same thing when I picked it up from the Pentranics, it's not extreme just noticable in some games.
What's this about using a drill then?

is there a pin and trap pot on the chassis?
-
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by that. I've adjust the settings in the on-screen menu, things such as pin cushion etc just so you guys are clear on that. It's literally a bent bit of the screen, none of the onscreen menu adjustments change it, ie if I rotate the screen it rotates with it. If that makes sense!
-
Rotates with it?
I don't know then. If it stayed in the same spot like I thought, it would be an easy fix, but I'm clueless on this one.
-
Actually that may be wrong, sorry - I'll check when I get home. Maybe it doesn't rotate with it... What's the easy fix?
-
What I already said.
-
I was just thinking about the whole 'magnets on a drill' thing - how does that work? If it's just in the corner, do I just do it on the corner? I mean what's the theory behind this? I don't want to mess it up even worse...

pin and trap are pots like the H and V hold H and V size Hand V posistion etc.
not all monitors have them with pots though.
