Ok so, ill try to cut this short, i got an old MK1 arcade...not the original, just a custom. Its a jamma cab....so i bought myself a new jamma wiring harness cause half the wires were all effed up. Bought new 8-way joystiks (the ones it had were 4) and happ buttons. anyway, i just got done rewiring the whole thing. Everything works like it should, coin slots, counter, monitor, etc. But the controls are just killing me, when i turn on the cab and press start it automatically picks the guy and when i get into the fight im just ducking and blocking, if i press block, he stops blocking and if i punch while doing that he jumps.....its crazy...does it for player 1 and 2.
any help???

i guess you are using microswitches with 3 spade connectors, you should have n/o and common terminals connected not the n/c terminal
see here

Although this isnt what they actually stand for, I will help reiterate:
N/O does not spell "No", it spells "Yes"
N/C should mean "No connect"
And Comm is for Common Ground.
Like I said, this isnt what they really mean (Normally open, normally closed, common/earth/ground) but it is a good thing to keep in your mind, esp during trouble shooting.

hmm ok i looked at that info, all of my switches are plugged through the n/o and all the ground are connected to the common? no good?
