Title: Would this make a good Donkey Kong conversion?
Post by: ediblegod on April 26, 2008, 02:17:36 am
Found an old Nintendo cabinet that might have some potential of converting to a Donkey Kong cabinet.
I think the asking price might be a little pricey.
What do you think?

Working Super Mario Bros cab fair condition asking $200

Are all nintendo cabinets pretty much universall?
Thanks!

From the photo, it looks to be the standard Nintendo cabinet that was used for Donkey Kong, DK Jr. Popeye, etc... and then later converted to the VS. system for Super Mario Bros, Excitebike, etc.

You can definitely convert this to a DK. I bought a cab just like this and turned it into a very nice looking DK.  And you can sell the working SMB parts to make up for the cost.

Like wmba, I converted one recently too. This is a fine cabinet.

The price is more than I like to pay when you still need to do everything for it. I'd pay $100 or less for a good nintendo cabinet.

Here is a link to the pictures of a similar cab that I restored back to DK:
