Title: Is 15kHz possible though component out?

I have been searching for information on MAME through component out since my 27" TV as component input and I have read some references to using 15kHz with component out to produce native arcade resolutions on TV but can't find any specifics on the technique.

Does anyone have any information?

Can you actually drive a standard CRT TV to 240 progressive through component inputs?

This does not sound any better than creating custom resolutions using ddraw, scaled to twice the vertical resolution of CGA games while avoiding hardware stretch.

I think it would be entirely possible if you could get around that blasted resolution resampling that just about all video cards seem to do when outputting in s-video or component. 

MY questions is this:

Is there a way to modify an american tv to recieve pure RGB signal?  I mean, all tv's with component input do is convert that signal back into RGB and output it to the screen, right?  If I could just somehow mod my tv to have a vga port on the back I could just use advancemame and send the exact resolution and scan rate of arcade games to the television.

Anybody else thought about something like that?

I'm sure they have. I vaguely recall Ken saying that the wiring wasn't that simple. Could be more to it than that, even. If you have HDMI (likely not, but never know), then it should be RGB, only digital.
