Title: MALA Jukebox help please!?
Post by: GRIMLOCKE on April 22, 2008, 02:53:09 pm

Ive been banging my head on this mala issue for like 4 hours now.

Everything seems to be working fine except this one thing.

I have the jukebox set to directory mode and nothing I do can get it to show the dir names. if I just randomly select blank entries I can get some songs to show up but essentially the lists are all blank. What im having a hard time explaining is there seems to be selectable items but they are invisible.

I have looked and read and read and looked and nothing I can figure out will solve this problem. it seems like its somethign with the layout. Ive built my own entire layout and its still the same.

So no one has an idea how I might fix this?

I think it's borked.  I've been using MaLa for 2yrs and everything works perfectly for me (MAME, Daphne, PC games), but when I enable Jukebox, set the root directory to somewhere with tunez, I get:

1) Music list often does not refresh, even after manually refreshing.
2) Impossible to get directory names
3) Refresh games list option is ghosted out
4) Name of menu draws correctly ("Jukebox") but sometimes I see the game list from previous emulator listed (ie Daphne games).

Has anyone gotten this working -- are there any plans to fix this?  I'm really interested in seeing a fully functional JukeBox.

PS, Can Mala display and play WMP playlist files?

Thanks,
Jason

Ehhh No Offence to Swindus but I always found the MaLa jukeBox a little undercooked.

My personal opinion is if you want a Full Feautured Jukebox then use a cool Jukebox App like 'UncleT's Jukebox'

I do use MaLa to play background music when a game is not playing.

having said that I have put it on the list but it is not a priority.

Do you plans to remove these features, and move the background player feature to your EmuWave plugin (which I guess could do all the sound for MaLA)?

I even think this MaLa jukebox is just a Singles based jukebox, hence directory is hence not used.

I think if you want to expand/fix this, I guess should keep this singles based and act like it was a emulator gamelist and just show files used (etc no tagging) and play the song when selected.

Not a bad idea   .... :-\
