So i got a empty mortal kombat that i am restoring. just bought the game boards and now im going to be moving onto the power wiring. i came across bob roberts page about AC wiring and was wondering if that is what i need to basically make. My monitor does not require an isolation transformer so do I just not put one in?
Also, according to happs website, the mortal kombat series used:
POWER SUPPLY 5V@15A, 12V@4A, -5V@1A 104 WATT, UL CE TUV
but all i can find is 12V@2A. Will this still work?
here is the link to the AC wiring page:

Yes, just leave the iso transformer out if you don't need it.
Do you mean you don't have a 12v @4amp supply on hand, or you can't find one to purchase?
there is one at happ:

Edit: Mortal Kombat is a Jamma + game, so somehow I doubt it would need anything but a standard switcher rated at 2 amps on the +12v rail. I really don't know for sure though, have you checked the manual to see if it specifies power needs?
According to the manual, it needs +5V at 5amps, -5v at 1amp and +12V at 1amp.

so just a standard switching power supply from happs will work fine.

They will. I also have some used ones for $10 each plus shipping.

I'll take one

thought i would bump this rather than start a new topic. anyways, i went ahead and ordered all the parts from bob and followed his tutorial. I skipped out on the isolation transformer as the monitor i have does not require one.
So now i need a little help. My monitor is power separately via its own power cord. How do i tie this into the AC board i made from bob's directions?
Right now i have two cords plugged in to make the machine run. want to eliminate one.

Cut off the end and wire it in?

so just basically cut the end off and wire it to two prongs on the AC distribution block? if i wire it into the power cord then it will be always on as its before the switch.

That sounds right.
