Title: VGA-SCART problem with a tvset
Post by: Stormrider on April 16, 2008, 02:36:56 am
We have made another VGA-SCART cable for the ArcadeVGA, which works perfectly with an old 14" Sony TVset, but not with a Daewoo. Actually, the picture is good, with perfect colors etc but there's a flickering every now and then, like loosing sync or something. It happens all the time. We thought it could be a problem with a bad soldering, but since it works flawlessly with the other tvset, it has to be a problem with the TVset. Anyway I could fix this, that means not buying another tvset?

If you are sure the cable wiring is good, try plugging in some other RGB-scart source - ie DVD player, games console.

If this plays up as well, then open the TV and check the Scart connections in there...sometimes if Scart cables have been plugged in/taken out/wiggled a lot then the connections to the circuit board can break.

I was about to buy a Daewoo for the same purpose but I think I will hold off now. Was your Daewoo a new one of a used one?.

It belongs to a friend of mine. It's new, I think.
