hey guy's, I acquired a PAL Dreamcast racing game, really want to be able to play it, but the game loads up and all I see is a rolling screen, If I had an old tv with a vertical hold switch, it would be playable, but thats old school, any way I can play this game properly on my USA DC. Would boot disc DC-X be a viable work around?
The game loads fine, I just cant make anything else out to play it
any suggestions/help would be appreciated, cheers

That's odd. Most modern TVs that I have come across can handle PAL and NTSC signals. I thought it was mainly the older TVs that could only handle one type of signal.
One solution would be to buy a VGA adapter and hook your DC up to a VGA monitor or your TV's VGA socket (if it has one).

yeah I thought about doing that, the :dunno strange thing is, my TV plays PAL dvds just fine, I dont get it, I think thats what I'll do, i've been eyeing up VGA cables, got an old monitor I wanna hook it up to, Oh how I love my DC 8)

if you have an arcade bac with a 15K arcade monitor it can be played on it also by modding the vga box.
this would enable the dreamcast to display 100% native.

Which game Gav?
-
its 'F1 Racing championship' from 1999, based on the 1998 season I believe
I looked for an NTSC version but no joy :banghead:

If it was a downloaded game, some have a 50/60 hertz option.

DC-X should work for you.
I use it in the other way to play US Games on my PAL Dreamcast. But i think it works in both way.

:dunno, I obtained a 'version' of DC-X, just came up with that animated screen showing disc info
burned it in both nero & alcohol 120%, no go :timebomb:
I give up :banghead:

they onlt read cd-r and you may have a dc that does not read cd-r possibly or your DL was bunk.
