I'm installing my stick in a 16mm MDF panel. I don't know if I should use normal screws and fit the stick from beneath, so the screws are not visible on the top or use that kind of screws that use a nut, which would be visible, but I feel that the installation would be better and stronger. I could put them a little lower thatn the surface of the top, so that I don't notice anything when playing. Is there any othe solution? I don't plan on installing plexiglass or any other material covering the top and which could be used for hiding the screws.

Were you going to put art on the panel?
You could use Countersunk screws and then just put the art over the screws, which would be flush to the top

You can countersink the screws from the top as suggested by Kajoq except instead of screws use bolts (with a V shaped head) and a nut and lock washer. This way if it loosens you can always tighten from underneath.

How about use Tee Nuts on the top of the control panel and screw in from the bottom?

I will not use artwork. My panel will be painted. I didn't knew these tee nuts. Anyway, what's the difference? They are visible too... Or are these nuts installed from underneath?

Pretty much all of the cabs I have done with a wood control panel, I have screwed in from underneath to leave the top clean. I've never had an issue with anything working loose of breaking (3 years + now). If anything ever did break loose, drill your holes and do bolts from the top at that point.
