OK, maybe not that serious, but I ended up getting that huge Sega Quartet cabinet, and the Sucka wont fit into my basement.
I'm very distraught about it. So it's in my shed curently, just begging to be played.
I'll be selling it. I'll be making a post int eh buy\sell\trade section shortly.
SIGH

Yeah those measuring tapes sure come in handy ;)
I feel your pain......is there any chance of you pry-bar ing it apart and re-assembling it in your basement?
If you're gonna mame the cab you can always disassemble it and reassemble it....pain in the butt, but it is a nice cab...

That cab is riveted together too well. I dont wanna destroy it.
Only room i can get it into is the living room and the wife doesnt th ink its gonna work well with the decor, lol
-
Hmmm....in that case, I guess its gotta go! :)
-
yeah, but its beautiful.

Well, you could always get rid of the wife ;D
Then she'd take half the cabinet with her and that wouldnt help me at all
lol
-
You could take the door to your basement off the hinges, and remove the molding around the door, and/or take apart the frame on the door =P
I almost had to take out a window frame to get my cabinet upstairs =P

thought about destroying the frame adn rebuilding it, but, i think ill just settle for a smaller cab

That's what my wife originally said, but once I put a jukebox in it, she thought it was a terrific thing to have in the living room.... can you tempt her with music?

As someone has killed himself before, I find that very offensive

Sorry about that, I deleted my post (I too find it morbidly offensive)
Truly sorry :-[

I say clean out the garage and put it in there. ::)
-
oh.. .man.... I feel your pain... I like that game too...
I use to play that when I was a kid....
you sure there's no way to get it in the basement ??
double checked and triple checked ?? :o :o :o
as the other guys say... maybe take the door of the hinge..
and sequeeze a little here...
take out the control panel and get a little there....
what I would say is... you already got it home...
let's put it in the garage.... wait till the wkend...
(or whenever you have time....)
take some measurement.... and do some measuring...
then open the cab.... see what you can take apart without distroying the cab.... take a look at your door and see what can be taken down..... (or maybe window.... or maybe backyard door....) or whatever.....
well... try harder.... HARDER.....
there has to be a way... some way.....
maybe break a wall or something.....
I would have gone nuts if that happened to me....
:P :P :P :P

check for nearby windows, i had a problem with a 4 plyer simpsons i bought from some warehouse, same thing. i just took out a window, did a bit of "widening", and put in a bigger window afterwards. it turned out nice, though. ;D

Gee, one would almost thing that these cabinets weren't originally constructed to be put in people's basements. Nah... That's crazy talk. :P

No, but lots of them do need to get into smaller rooms... like at hotel arcades... stuff along those lines..
