Title: Fast Ms. Pacman and Fast Galaga shoot

I'm confused.

I thought I could have both Fast Ms. Pacman and Fast shoot Galaga on my mame machine. What I'm finding is Ms. Pacman was added after .079 and Fast shoot Galaga was dropped after version .079. Can anyone help me out?

Really?  Hmm... I currently have .122 (maybe .123 ?) I know the speed hack is in Ms. Pacman but I could have sworn I also saw the Galaga hack because it was the first time I ever saw that... I could be wrong though but I thought I saw it in there. 

Which version to you have now?

Just rename the ROMs for fast shoot Galaga to match the current ROM names.

Mame should then run it...... Haven't tried it, but it should work. You could rename them to match one of the bootlegs that are only a copy of the original to start with.

You can also go into the cheat menu on galaga and enable fast shoot.

I'm using .84 which doesn't have support of Ms Pacman with Speedup chip. How do I use the Fast Ms Pacman roms in place of Ms Pacman? Just rename? I've always preferred fast, but just turning on the cheat is too fast.

I am running MAME .119 and I definitely have both running perfectly, along with the "normal" versions.  So this is just to confirm that the later versions still support these hacked version roms.

So newer versions of MAME do indeed support these hacked versions.  My romset is .119 as well and matches my version of MAME exactly which is probably why it works on my end.

Have you tried using ClrMAME to match your versions?  http://www.clrmame.com/
