Title: Coin Door Question
Post by: Zalm on April 04, 2008, 05:38:19 pm
I have a an arcade machine built for 2 players.  I would like to get some opinions on how you would wire up a 3 slot coin door for a 2 player machine.

Should I make the 3rd slot series the first slot?
Or make the 3rd slot series both the P1 P2 coin inserts?

If it was for one of my cabs i would use the first and third slots for players one and two respectively.  then i would set make the middle slot as free play/free credit button.

Setup as 3 players for RAMPAGE an other games.....
You just need to do some work on you INI files.

LIke:

For a COMMON (single), games like pacman.Ms.Pac, Inavders, Galaxian./Galaga/DonkeyKong, etc...set up all 3 to accept the coin no matter which hole they shove the coin in.

For 2 individual (tha need separate coin slot games) I can't think of a game, but lots of shooters needs this (but then again, you can setup this to be COMMON, only on some games)
Setup 1st and 2nd and for the 3rd, set it up to be BOTH (This is all done in INI/MAME, so 1 coin can get 2 player credit, 1 credit for the 1st and 1 credit for the 2nd player.

Then for 3 Player games, that should be default.

and for the 4 Player GAMES, you can set this games to be 2 players like in Simpsons, TeenAge Mutant Turtles etc....

Do you have 3/4 Player Controls setup in the CP ?
