Title: Pinmame on XBOX?
Post by: walls83 on April 03, 2008, 11:03:24 am
Does anybody know if PinMame will run on a modded xbox?  IF so do you have a link to the program?

the actual LCD emulator will likely work, but I believe that visual pinball is a COM application, meaning it will only work on windows.  So probably not.  If you find something feel free to share though.

Yup.  Visual Pinball is freeware but it is NOT open source so it can't be compiled to run as a native Xbox application.  The only way to make it happen would be to use the necessary virtualizaton to make Windows run on the Xbox and then run VisualPinball and that would be so inefficent and slow (and a PAIN to do!) that it would not be worth it.

...However I suggest you check out Pure Pinball for Xbox, it was released for PC as well but the Xbox has a 4th table where as the PC version only has 3.  It's one of the most impressive virtual pinball arrangements I've ever seen, all of the tables are original creations but are a lot of fun, interesting and detailed.

I'm not sure who was involved in the game's production, I just think it was one of the best computer pinball games I've ever seen.  It has some limitations however, like the lack of options, there's nothing for difficulty or extra features, all tables are 5 ball no option, high scores arn't kept like an arcade machine would.

...Still fun however.
