Title: Can I make Direct-X use 640x432 when I select 640x480?
Post by: sofakng on April 02, 2008, 07:52:13 pm
A lot of the games I play only support specific resolutions such as 640x480 and 800x600.

However, when I use component video I'm _required_ to use 640x432 or else there is HUGE overscan.

Can I somehow (eg. powerstrip?) fake Direct-X into using 640x432 even when I select 640x480?

...or are there other fixes to this?

Can you do a software resize of the image output? Most video card utilities have some sort of option for this.

For some insane reason, the latest ATI Drivers only let you re-size the screen if you use S-Video or component output of 720p or higher.

I'm using 480i output and I can't re-size the screen what-so-ever. :(

Powerstrip MIGHT let you change screen size (I'm not sure, I've only used it to force 640x480 on my Voodooł).
