Title: Tube Compatibility
Post by: FrizzleFried on April 02, 2008, 04:52:36 pm
I have a real nice looking tube that came with a funky Sharp Image chassis that is dead and sparking. I'd rather just drop a known working chassis in, but I am not 100% sure of the compatibility of the tube. The frame is a Wells Gardner frame (at least it has WG labels) but the tube is not original. The chassis LOOKS like a WG chassis but is a SI.

The tube numbers are G-A48AC802X and O4RC0872-005.

The vertical resistance is 2.4 ohms
The horizontal resistance is 11.7 ohms

It has a 10-pin neck.

Will a WG K7000 chassis w/10-pin neck work with this tube?

a48acb02x is standard notation . the  "O4RC0872-005" sounds like  "house numbering " from a mfg.

as long as the pin outs are the same , it should be usable . reuse the original yoke so no need to worry 'bout deflection compatability issues .  mark the position of the convergence rings on the donor tube . do not disturb the ring position when removing . reinstall ring in same position after installing yoke .
if the chassis was ok , a few adjustments and it should be up and running ....
