I am about to order an A-Pac but I am not sure if it is going to be sent with the right capacitors. I have Betson pedals (shown here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=78341.0)). The ultimarc site has a table which indicates which capacitors you need for certain potentiometers.
First, select the correct capacitor for the value of the pot you will be using as shown below.
Pot Value | Capacitor | Markings |
5K | 150nF | .15 | Supplied with board |
100K | 10nF | 10n | Supplied with board |
50K | 15nF | | On request |
10K | 68nF | 68n | On request |
The problem is my potentiometers don't appear to fall within the above category. They are labeled:
RV020N
20F B502
978
Can anyone tell me the pot value for these pedals?
Thanks.

Why don't you think they fall into that category? Betson's website seems to indicate that they sell a 5k or a 100k version which would be in that category.
Do you have a multimeter? I'd guess they are 5k pots from the b502 marking and that most arcade controls use 5k pots.

Its more that I have no idea if they did. I couldn't tell what the pot value was from the codes, but it looks like you can.
Thanks

Pots usually have a date code stamped on them. It should be in the form YYWW where YY is the year it was manufactured, and WW is the week number. I am only stating this in case the B502 is really 8502, meaning it was made in the second week of 1985. Of course if those are new(ish) post than that is obviously nor true. Could 978 be the date code?
The best bet would be to measure it with a multimeter.

Is there a reason you're getting the A-pac1 instead of the A-pac2?
A-pac2 doesn't need caps, and is able to take pretty much any POT, as long as the POT outputs 0 to 5 volts+.
(A-pac2 does not do digital aka buttons or 8-way joysticks, which might prevent you from using it.) :dunno

Because I am an idiot.
I need to go change my order.
Thanks
