Title: Arcade Button Question

Question for all you builders, I need your knowledge on something related.

I am modifying a guitar currently, I need a button to use as a "kill switch" to cut out the signal. I would LIKE to use an arcade button for this. My main question is...

1. Does anyone make a REALLY short arcade button, as the control cavity on the guitar is not very deep.

2. Where is the best place to get one.

These seimitsu buttons are probably the shortest you'll be able to find easily

Thanks, that looks about right but now I need one more question answered.

Anyone ever install one of these on Plexiglass??

Safest way too do it without cracking?

I've never installed these exact buttons into plexi, But I have done Sanwa buttons into plexi, which use a very similar snap in system.

If you can get ahold of lexan, I would recommend using that over plexi.  but basically the trick is to get the plexi you want to drill and sandwich it between two sheets of plywood and clamp it all together.  Use your holesaw bit and drill through steadily and the force of the plywood should prevent the plexi from being able to crack.  Don't try to go too fast though.  It will also help in the long run if you go ahead and order a 30mm holesaw instead of using a 1 1/8" bit.  The 30mm is kind of hard to find in stores, but if you don't use it you'll have to file out the 1 1/8" hole a little to make those seimitsu buttons fit.  (1 1/8" = ~28.5mm)

I will be ordering a 30mm hole saw bit.

I noticed that their were "threaded" versions of this button, I believe this would work better than the snap in, would I need to cut the threads into the plexi or does this mean it is simply a "sandwich" that you screw both sides together.
