I tried to set up Mala, but for some reason I'm only getting 32 varieties of Golden Tee. I had an older version of MAME, but I tried windows version .99, and have the same result. Do I need to force Mala to start over with a new game list? My ROM path is correct in the setup, and the Roms are there.
If I choose the Rom Path option "Only include Roms found in Rom folders" then I get no games in the All Games list at all. The Roms are in the folder.
Thanks,

When you tried the newer version of Mame, did you recreate the mame.xml file or use the old one? Mame.xml is the file that tells Mala what rom names are available and valid. Therefore if you recreate it, Mala needs to be pointing to this new version. Of course you can tell Mala to recreate the mame.xml file which is the easiest way to do it.
Now I have no idea what version of Mame included all varieties of Golden Tee. I am using a very recent version of Mame, and I currently list ~40 varieties of Golden Tee in Mala. Mame version .99 was released in August, 2005.
By the way, you can right click while in Mala and choose Refresh Main Game List.

Thanks for the reply. I deleted and recreated the XML file, and it still only comes up with those 32 versions of golden tee.
You know what? I think that v.99 I have is compiled with only golden tee in it. I haven't messed with MAME much in the past couple of years and I seem to remember doing that a long time ago. I bet that's my problem. I'll grab a clean version of mame and try it.

That was it! Got a clean v99 and it picked up the games. Now to work through all the little bugs.
