Title: operator please
Post by: danny_galaga on March 28, 2008, 07:28:23 am

i dont know how much exposure this band has had overseas. but i think they have a great future if they choose. this clip was recorded about a year or so ago when they were 15 or so!

i cant remember the new song from them at the moment. i think they all of them display great technical skill and will expand into whatever genre they choose (unless they just create their own)

thank god not ALL kids are emos nowadays (",)

Pretty catchy stuff. I watched a couple of their other videos as well.

The lead singer reminds me a lot of Romeo Void. I guess I'll go dredge up their songs too.

never say never! that comparison crossed my mind too. admittedly romeo voids lyrics are cleverer, but hey these kids have a lifetime ahead of them (",)

Does she say "beef jerky has a nasty taste"?  I don't agree with that at all. :)

its "beef jerky has an AFTER taste"

Pretty catchy stuff.  If they keep it up and expand their lyrical abilities, it'd be even better.

Sick at home and watching some On Demand crap, I found that the CSI: New York episode "Right Next Door (http://www.tv.com/csi-ny/right-next-door/episode/1182435/summary.html?tag=ep_list;title;15)" that aired on April 9th opens with this song. Looks like they're going on up.

That was kinda whack - I realize they're young, but those lyrics were really starting to bother me. And show more of the blond chick, not the porker lead singer.

I'll stick to Rogue Traders and Kylie Minogue for my Aussie fix...

Mmmmm... Natalie Bassingthwaighte... I'll be in my bunk...

You do realize they're only about 15, so if your looking for someone to think about in your bunk, then its in your best interest not to show the better looking one.  Besides, most of my favorite female singers of all time weren't very good looking (such as Janice Joplin and Aretha Franklin).

I think I just threw up a little and had to swallow it.  Pure garbage...15 years old or not...i'd go freakin' nuts if I had a kid that listened to that crap over and over again.

Here's a much better teenage band...(though they look a little older than 15)...

Heh, I wasn't saying I like the music of Operator Please (I can't stand the song posted either).

*edit* just watched the clip you posted and I would prefer Operator Please to them, but then I've never been a fan of death metal.

I would say Operator Please has a heck of a lot of potential though.  Personally, I liked it.

General rule of thumb for bands, I think they should keep the porkers in the back. Better yet, this particular "group" should just stop now and ask for their McDonald's jobs back.

Also, you're mixing two different things there goofball - the bunk reference is from Firefly, and was ONLY referring to the 32 year old WOMAN I was talking about:

Which is part of the problem for modern music: Looks are more important then talent.

True - I agree there, but the two are not mutually exclusive. For example, Christina Aguilera's newer stuff (once she got away from the teeny boper drivel) is great, she has an incredible range of voice. And - she is smokin' hot!

No they're definately not mutually exclusive, it's now just extremely rare for a female singer to become popular if she isn't good looking, regardless of her talent, and good looking girls can become popular singers even with little talent.
