making a console cabinet and want to have Time Crisis 3 on it. Saw that Happ has their 45 cal. optical red and blue guns on sale for $70. I was going to get a Guncon2, but for for a little more I could have a much nicer gun. When it comes to guns I am clueless. Am I just dreaming for it to work thru a PS2 on a normal TV?
also if I do have to get a Guncon2, anyone have the dimmensions for it and the 3 holsters Happ sells? I need to know which one it would fit in best, if any.

ok, replying to my own thread cause I just saw the Thrustmaster Beretta 92FS for xbox. OMFG is this like the coolest and most realistic console gun I have ever seen. If this thing is as good or better than the Guncon2, maybe I can get this one to work for me, xbox->usb? I should just make this the, "help me choose the best gun for under $100 for my PS2 cabinet" thread ;D

You are most certainly living in some demented gun happy dreamland if you expect the happ guns to magically work on a PS2 console....or if you expect this import xbox gun to work on the PS2 through a USB converter.
The guncon2 is the absolute best lightgun you can get for the PS2. If you don't like the way it looks, then paint it black, and make sure you bring it to school to show all your friends and teachers.

school? how old you think I am? 12? and I wouldn't need to paint a Guncon2, the original ones are black, I'd just get one of those. It's just that the Beretta is like $20 more and is made by Thrustmaster, don't see why it couldn't be a better gun. The Guncon2 uses the PS2 usb port, and xbox controllers are actually just different shaped usb plugs. Also the XBox and PS2 output video the same, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Unless you've used the beretta and/or have knowledge on how light guns work, don't give me a simple non-infomative cocky responce :(

Sorry for the "cocky" response, but if the only reason why you want this particular xbox lightgun is because it looks more cool or realistic, well then I just assumed you were quite young. There is a reason why they don't sell those lightguns in the US. Now for your technical response....
First: yes the PS2 has a USB connector, but that doesn't mean you can just stick any USB device into it and expect it to work. Same holds true for the Xbox.
Second: the GunCon2 is totally different than the Xbox lightgun. The GunCon2 actually has 2 inputs, the USB, and a composite video input plug. The PS2 uses the composite plug to communicate video timing. The Xbox lightgun does not have a composite input. The xbox has many more display modes than the PS2 and as such sends the video timing information over the usb wire protocol. It won't work on anything else but an Xbox.

I used this one before.it works really well with time crisis 2.even the padel works with the gun(padel not included).
