I need a light for my marquee and stumbled upon http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=307
Anyone used this product? good? bad? good enough?
If not this light, any site/light you would recommend?
Thanks in advance.

would like to add...I know it's an led light not fluorescent ;)

Ordered one Fri. Ill let you know.

Just FYI, there are 3 reviews on the site. Not sure if those will help in your decision making.

I ordered my cp parts this weekend and ordered 2 of these led marquee lights.
3 of my joysticks are backorder so no clue when they will ship out my order. As soon as they are in, ill get back to this thread.

I have mine in, seems fairly bright, but I have a feeling I may need a second one. I am staining the top of the cab this week, will be a week or two before I get a marquee installed. I will post back then.

Thanks for the link, I was looking for something like this.
I ordered one and should receive it sometime this week for my Hanaho Showcase cab.
Not sure if it'll be big/bright enough. It's replacing an 18" 15 watt florescent cool white tube (with an odd 4-pin square molex connector). I'm going to have to change the molex connectors on the PSU to a regular 4 pin molex cable to work. Might pick up a Y splitter if I need two of these for ample lighting. We'll see.

I have one. I love it. It was very easy to hook up. I have it connected to the yellow 12v and ground wires on my power supply in my PC. When the PC goes on the marquee turns on as well.
You can see how bright it is in my video. It seems just fine for me.

HOLY COW. That's as bright as a fire in your video!
:laugh2:

That looks nice! Thanks for the vid Delusional. I can't wait to get mine. 12v and ground is good because I don't have any other wires currently coming up from my PSU :laugh2:
Did you include the optional molex adaptor? Or did you cut/strip the plug and jimmy your own molex connection for it?

I mounted mine this weekend. I decided to use 2 strips for even coverage of the marquee. The strip is only 11 inches wide and LEDs are very directional. I recommend 2 strips. I mounted them using 3, 4 inch L brackets. For a power supply I purchased a variable 12v replacement brick from Radio shack and fitted it with quick disconnects. That allows me to crank down the brightness on the strips if I want down to.
I will post pics when I get home.

I bought a great piece from www.xoxide.com that allowed the molex connectors to reside outside of the case in a normal slot. Here's what I did:
